Starting with Ourselves

After touring to a few places doing talks along with book signings, Alice has now put together a day long playworkshop to offer a little more of just what people are asking her for.

This six hour playshop will begin with movement to music, to help us get out of our heads. Then there will be periods of silence and also satsang-like talking about the reality that is behind all of our thoughts about ourselves and the world we live in, of what is actually Here, before thought.

Then there will be a discussion about living that, about how one distinguishes the difference between being guided or moved by something true versus following our ideas, and time to work together to create tools that will work for our individual situations when we return home.

The afternoon will begin silence and then go more deeply into how to be with whatever is happening in each person's home or work life in a way that promotes rather than distracts from awakening, and again creating personalized tools for being with these things when returning home.

The day will end at 4:00 after a discussion and sharing time about how this process can impact our relationship with the world's difficult issues and how equanimity in no way means inaction, but can mean empowered action.

Scheduled workshops at the moment include:

July 2008 in Mountain View, CA, dates TBA soon.

October 18th, 2008 at the Learning Light in Anaheim, CA

November in Washington DC, dates TBA

The playshops will begin at 9:00, with registration at 8:45 and finish at 4:00 pm, with an hour for lunch.
